Using the bathroom at night is serious business. No one enjoys stumbling around in the dark or turning on bright lights and waking themselves up in the middle of the night! After one too many midnight bumps and bruises occurring while on route to rendezvous with the porcelain throne, IllumiBowl, the world's first toilet bowl night light was born.
IllumiBowl was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2014.
Now, three years later, the company has improved on its design to create the IllumiBowl Anti-Germ.
By using light waves, the IllumiBowl: Anti-Germ fights toilet germs using “medical-grade technology found in hospitals”.
“IllumiBowl is able to directly target toilet germs with non-UVC wavelengths of light that are lethal to bacteria, but completely harmless to humans,” it said.
The germ-defence device consists of a small, white box – which takes AA batteries – and a diode, which is placed on the inside of the toilet rim.
The light fights toilet bacteria by blasting energy for 15 seconds every two minutes, and once a day for eight minutes straight.
IllumiBowl fits any toilet thrown at it with three brightness levels and eight colors patterns to choose from. A motion and light sensor ensures batteries are only used when needed.
The IllumiBowl Anti-Germ is currently available for pre-order through Kickstarter. Shipments are scheduled to start in July.
