Africa Energy Forum

Africa Energy Forum 11-14/06/2019, Lisbon, Portugal

The Africa Energy Forum (aef) is the global investment meeting for Africa’s power, energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors. The Forum brings together decision-makers in Africa's energy sector to form partnerships, identify opportunities and collectively move the industry forward.

aef has a loyal following of credible players working in the power space, and a track record of delivering a valuable networking experience. aef will arrive in Lisbon for the first time from 10 - 14 June 2019, with a pre-Forum day on 10th June. Portugal holds a wealth of experience in deploying reliable renewable technologies, making it a great case study of a country focused on a sustainable energy future.

The Forum's 20th anniversary took place in Mauritius from 19-22 June 2018, welcoming over 1600 delegates for four days of panel discussions and networking functions focused on Africa’s Energy Sector. The event took place in 26 purpose-built structures erected between the Paradis and Dinarobin Beachcomber hotels in Le Morne, Mauritius.

The theme “Reflections on the last 20 years” underpinned the discussions in Mauritius. The agenda reflected on the progress and achievements made by the AEF community, and celebrated all the megawatts put on the grid and lives changed as a result. AEF 2018 also analysed the obstacles to be overcome over the next few years in order to accelerate project development.

The aef networking app returns in 2019 to help delegates exchange private messages, arrange meetings and get up to speed with all the details of the agenda, speakers and sponsors. 70% of attendees engaged with the app in 2018, with over 2,000 messages exchanged.

This year aef introduces a live voting tool on the networking app throughout panel sessions. This is your chance to influence conversations between panellists and get your questions answered in real-time.
