The Gibraltar Stock Exchange (GSX) was established in 2014 and is the first ever regulated stock exchange in Gibraltar.

The opening occurred in two distinctive phases. In the initial “soft launch” phase from the start of November 2014, the GSX invited firms to apply for membership as Listing Members, with a number of applicants having expressed their keen interest.

The full opening for listings themselves occurred during the first quarter of 2015. In January 2017,GSX opened its self-regulated market, a Multilateral Trading Facility under MiFID, called the Global Market. Over the years the exchange developed and evolved to suit the needs of the EU market.

Today, GSX IS operating a main and global market and offers a listing service for the following products: Open-Ended Funds, Closed-Ended Funds, Debt (including Bonds, Asset Backed Securities and Derivative Securities).

The Exchange is responsible for maintaining an orderly market, oversees listings and member firms, and liaises with the Listing Authority.

GSX is owned by GSX Group, which has also launched the Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange. GBX aims to be a world-leading institutional-grade token sale platform and digital asset exchange.  To continue to build Gibraltar’s position as the leading jurisdiction for blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology, the Group launched the GSX Blockchain Innovation Centre.

In 2017, the GSX Group also acquired the largest fund administrator in Gibraltar as well as a fiduciary services company. Rebranded to become Juno Services Group, they expand the Group’s product offering and develop its financial services and fintech ecosystem.
